As May 2026 marks the 60th milestone for the Golden Logistics Australia group, it's time to look back at the past six decades of “Moving Australia” with immense pride. What began as a bold dream has transformed into a beacon of excellence and reliability within the Australian logistics industry.
It's a story of struggle, commitment, innovation, and evolution, which we hope you would enjoy.
Our founder, Graham Schorer, was working as a licensed independent used car dealer in Melbourne in the mid 1960s, when a fast-growing industry caught his attention. The bulk of his clientele were owner/operators in the courier services industry, or as it was known then, as “messenger services”. In the 60s, messenger services had smaller vehicles handling smaller cargoes of less than 250 kg. Seeing an opportunity, Graham began selling them, 1-tonne capacity vans suitable for much larger shipments, paving the way for a paradigm shift within the industry. In the early 1970s, Graham assumed control of Golden Messenger, a fledgling enterprise operating from a private residence with only six vehicles. This pivotal takeover marked the turning point from observation to action, as he began the rigorous work of transforming his vision into reality. The company started growing fast, and this momentum carried right through the 1970s when Graham acquired Kay’s Messenger. In 1979, Graham established a taxi truck business known as Integrated Transport, specialising in 1-tonne to 4-tonne trucks and also semi-trailers.
Over the years, we have added many services to our portfolio, including Warehousing and 3PL, Air Freight Cargo, Time-sensitive & Medical Logistics, Cold Chain Logistics, and Logistics Consultation Services. By 2021, our group was rebranded as Golden Logistics Australia, marking a brand-new chapter in our organisation's history.
Courier services Australia have been the core of our operations since inception, earning a stellar reputation as one of the top names in the continent. We facilitate an Australia-wide delivery network spanning all states & territories. As the industry has transitioned toward more integrated solutions, we have remained steadfast in perfecting the art of the delivery as one of our core value propositions.
Building on our foundations as a renowned courier services provider, our group has expanded into managing end-to-end logistics services supported by our own dedicated warehouses. We have 3 strategically located hubs around Victoria to ensure maximum coverage and efficiency. These facilities are based in Moorabbin Airport within the southeast industrial corridor, Bacchus Marsh in Western Victoria, and Warragul in the Gippsland region east of Melbourne. This robust infrastructure enables us to provide complete 3PL solutions including pallet storage, inventory control, pick and pack, container de-stuffing, cross-docking, distribution management, order fulfillment, last-mile delivery and reverse logistics.
In 2013, international air freight capabilities were added to our service portfolio, with the acquisition of PakAir Cargo Specialists into the Golden group. Today our valued clientele trusts us with highly specialised cargo deliveries including time-sensitive logistics, complex medical logistics (Cell & Gene Therapy, Tissue & Plasma Samples, Diagnostic Specimens, Controlled, Substances, Pharmaceuticals & Vaccines), and robust cold chain solutions. These services require a level of precision and technical expertise that we have refined over decades, ensuring that even the most delicate shipments are handled with absolute care and precision.
Today, Golden Logistics Australia stands as a testament to sixty years of resilience and growth, underpinned by our ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, and 45001 certifications for quality, environment, security, and safety. Furthermore, our commitment to specialised service is reinforced by our HACCP (food safety) and RMP (Radioactive Management Plan) certifications. What commenced as a six-vehicle home-operated business is today operating with a modernised fleet ranging from 1-tonne and 2-tonne vans to heavy-duty trucks, semi-trailers, and B-doubles. Our Physical infrastructure is well complimented by our digital framework as well, with cutting edge tracking systems offering transparency for both internal and external parties. With a dedicated team of over 175 personnel and a volume exceeding 170,000 annual deliveries across the country, we have become a major logistics service provider for our dear nation.
